Ben Proto and the big, bad bylaws proposal Sally F, March 6, 2023 Word is spreading awfully quickly: Ben Proto has had the by-laws committee (see below) propose changes to our CTGOP bylaws that would allow the state party to spend party money to help the endorsed candidates in primaries. If passed, Ben and the state central committee would decide who our candidates would be, not the Republican voters! SAME team. Things that make you go “hmmmm”. Proposed change: “Section 2. Party Funds Not To Be Spent in Primaries, Exceptions During a primary for statewide office,. the state committee shall not, without the prior approval of a vote of two-thirds of the total members of the state central membership at a duly noticed state central meeting, expend any funds of the state committee on behalf of an endorsed candidate for statewide office. This support may be withdrawn by a two-thirds vote of the total members of the state central membership.” If this bylaw change passes, Proto will go to what may be called, “Grassroots Hellfire”. NO more donating to the party Un-registering from the R party Epic FAIL on the Prescott Bush dinner in May This bylaws proposal has morphed from what Ben Proto may have thought would be a nice, quiet affair — into a very noisy opportunity for those of us that he disdains. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. We happy “few” will keep our honest votes for the candidates WE decide, or we’ll keep our hard-earned dollars well out of the GOP party reach.
