Bob MacGuffie has been on the offensive this year, punching Jim Himes where it hurts: his voting record, and more recently, Himes’ writings on the Nicaraguan sandinistas. Below is an excerpt from a paper he wrote as a young man, studying the [communist] revolutionary methods:

MacGuffie points out, “Himes interviewed some 90 Sandinista leaders and operatives focused on driving communist cultural change throughout Nicaraguan society.”
More focus on Himes reveals he was fascinated by the behavior of the FSLN and how to affect massive social changes.
Part 2 of Himes’ paper can be accessed here.
“I think that it is astounding that he wrote it,” he said. “I think it informs his thinking. He interviewed the Communists for two months during their revolution” in Nicaragua. “He was researching Marx, Stalin and Castro.” After being contacted via e-mail by Patch.com, Francesca Capodilupo, Himes’ campaign manager, stated that they would not be providing comment for this story.”
A few key pages of Himes’ paper can be read below. Himes lends his written support the massive changes in socio-economic and political structures that ‘revolutionary regimes’ brought to Nicaragua.
