The APT foundation received $9.6 million in grants; but requirements ‘not practiced’
GUILFORD—Concerned residents in Guilford have been amassing vocal opposition to a methadone clinic, scheduled to be operational by this August. Now, they’re discovering APT clinics have failed to meet requirements stipulated by grant money.
The APT foundation has not been complying with their grant agreements, according to a social services worker wishing to remain anonymous. The worker claims APT is “not interested” in having patients weaned off methadone, and do not make patients go to required psycho-analytic therapy sessions.
The APT clinics also reportedly allow patients to take methadone, even after testing positive for other opioids.
Currently, APT operates four clinics in Connecticut, which each serve approximately 450 patients. Another source says patients from New London are supposed to be taking advantage of the Guilford clinic, once it’s operational.
Concerned town resident Dave Holman said, “[Town officials] told us the clinic would serve 400 people; well we’re apparently getting 400 just from New London.”
Documentary release
On Thursday, June 20th, Guilford residents and officials had a chance to see a new documentary called “Ignored and Disrespected”, which spotlights First Selectman Matt Hoey’s approach in bringing the clinic to Guilford.
The documentary can be found on Youtube, GCTV, as well as www.greatereducationcouncilofct.org and www.relocatethemethadonclinic.com. Four petitions can also be accessed for Guilford residents to sign.
Holman says to the best of his knowledge, APT founder and CEO Lynn Madden has not responded to his emails, nor any other emails from concerned citizens and businesses in Guilford.
We reached out to CEO Lynn Madden last week, and have not heard as of publishing time.

Sally,
Thank you for publicizing this APT Foundation methadone clinic which is scheduled to open in Guilford in August. I encourage everyone to watch our documentary “Ignored and Disrespected” which can be accessed by googling http://www.youtube.com and searching for “Ignored and Disrespected.” It presents just the facts about how Guilford First Selectman Matt Hoey succeeded in bringing a methadone clinic to Guilford on his own without public notice, public hearings, impact studies, or background checks into APT Foundation or the impact their methadone clinics have had on other communities. All 29 Guilford Town Officials who rubber stamped Matt Hoey’s decision to bring a methadone clinic to Guilford were invited to our event on June 20, 2024, to do a Q&A session regarding the clinic, only two of them bothered to RSVP that they would not be attending, and none of them showed up to answer questions from the public. To date none of these 29 Guilford Town Officials have ever agreed to take and answer questions from the citizens and businesses of Guilford and have in fact rejected numerous petitions and even an ethics complaint filed against Guilford First Selectman Matt Hoey. It is incredible what is going on in Guilford.
