It’s been over four years since the world’s elite class closed life’s activity doors, swiftly locking the performing arts–and its artists–away from healthy, human expression. Many experts in government incessantly preached safety over soul, rendering silence instead of singing.
For opera soprano Claire Stadtmueller however, silence was just never an option.
Possessing a powerful, articulate and nuanced voice, she has performed worldwide–including Carnegie Hall. But when the famed Hall demanded masks and Covid shots for entry, the renowned soprano refused.

Claire says while the effects of the lockdown “felt like an amputation,” she didn’t want the government telling her what would go in her body. She was also fired from a school for refusing the shot. But many of her fellow singers and artists took the jab, and disowned the singer for her beliefs in health and freedom.
Prior to 2020, Stadtmueller sang often; and her passion is singing for peace. She dreams of musicians joining forces to create an energetic statement –- and saturate the atmosphere with Britten’s War Requiem.
She believes war’s destruction – especially the Covid tyranny on human flourishing – is far more costly than creative solutions to problems.
Environmental activism
As more small cell antennas have been installed on buildings, utility poles and billboards, levels of microwave radiation—called simply “5G” for the bandwidth—are rising. These small antennas include the “smart” utility meters widely implemented in Connecticut and throughout the Northeast.
In March 2020, Stadtmueller co-founded a group called 5G Free RI, with Sheila Resseger. The duo spoke many times before the City Council in Cranston, Rhode Island, wrote letters to and were interviewed by the editor of the Cranston Herald.
“That kind of microwave radiation is really xenobiotic,” Claire said, “it’s contrary to life.” To help combat the harmful radiation, she does more than educate legislators. Pianos that accompany her singing are tuned to 432 hz, a frequency found to at least relieve stress, if not repair DNA damage.
Stadtmueller began speaking against geo-engineering as well, including solar radiation modification.
Finding a new community
From making impromptu speeches to educating legislators, the singer stays active. In September 2022, she sang for Children’s Health Defense for a benefit concert.
Claire’s recent films convey the effects of geo-engineering, and the collective war on human life and hope itself. Her Opus 1 depicts the worldwide Covid tyranny, with Gian Carlo Menotti’s ever-relevant song, “To This We’ve Come”.
