LAZ Parking partners to implement EV charging stations nationwide
Hartford-based LAZ Parking has created a partnership with EPIC — with the aim of deploying smart EV charging across the company’s properties.
The strategic development agreement will see Epic Charging’s charging station management system integrated into LAZ’s parking facilities nationwide, potentially reaching 50,000 parking spots over the next five years…..facilities at hotels, airports, municipal garages, commercial properties and surface lots. Epic Charging says its platform enables monitoring, maintenance, payment processing and data analytics, to maximize yield on both parking and EV charging revenue streams.
“Soon, every parking space will need to support EV charging, and our partnership with Epic Charging is a critical step toward making that vision a reality,” said Alan Lazowski, chairman and CEO of LAZ Parking. “This is the foundation for a much larger transformation that will redefine the role of parking in the mobility ecosystem.”
175-unit housing development coming to Darien
The town’s Planning & Zoning Commission recently approved an application by global commercial real estate development firm Trammell Crow to raze the office buildings at 1, 16 and 22 Thorndal Circle, which are located on 11 acres in the Thorndal Office Park.
The demolition will make way for five multifamily residential buildings that will be three stories tall and feature studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, according to plans filed with the Planning & Zoning Commission. In adherence to the town’s zoning regulations, 25% of the units will be restricted to residents earning no more than 80% of the state’s median income.
The development will be built around an internal “Main Street” that will be lined by the five multifamily buildings, a community park and clubhouse, according to the plans. A new sidewalk is planned for property frontage on Hecker Avenue. “The design of the multifamily buildings proposes a residential style of architecture featuring vertical expression, alternating entry brick towers, bay projections and entry stoops that will bring a townhouse element to the internal streetscape,” the plans stated.
