Back in 2015, Connecticut resident David Mainiero had just come off of developing 5 star restaurants and he had the idea to bring the mindset and concept of high quality premium ice cream into the area. When he set out to do this, he didn’t look around to see what others were doing, instead he just went in his own direction following the vision that he had.
Firstly, he states, location is very important. Situating his locations in cities and towns that have great restaurants and Universities helps draw a larger number of people. In New Haven, he is near Yale. In Fairfield he is near the University of Fairfield, University of Bridgeport, and Sacred Heart. In West Hartford, on Farmington Ave, he is near Trinity, ST. Joseph’s, and the school of the deaf. He is planning to expand to South Florida.
Next the major focus is the star attraction – the ice cream! “This is very high quality premium ice cream “ David states. “It is all natural – no antibotics, no steroids, no chemicals. It is a higher cost to us, but we do it to bring our guests the very best!” After that, the famous Hong-Kong style caramelized Bubblecone®. This type of cone is unique to their establishment and helps to set them apart. Some specialty cone flavors include Smores campfire, Strawberry balsamic, Blue Cookie Butter.

David says that consistency to producing a high-quality product is the key to repeat business. It all works together – you provide high-quality product, people will keep coming back, and they will tell many, many others who will the get hooked on and keeping coming back for more great tasting cream, popular at any age. Milkcraft® is located in New Haven, West Hartford, and Fairfield.
