Bob MacGuffie, the endorsed Republican candidate for the Fourth Congressional District, issued the following statement in response to the Bridgeport charges:
“Wanda Geter-Pataky is the most recognized ballot-stuffer in the nation. Hopefully, this long-awaited announcement will repair some of the damage done to the confidence of free and fair elections in Bridgeport. Five years is a long time to wait.
Election insecurity is well known and documented in Bridgeport. Three Connecticut Superior Court judges have ordered four new Democratic primaries in the past seven years. Former Democratic Bridgeport City-Councilman DeFilippo pled guilty to civil rights offenses last month related to his 2017 campaign, where he stole and falsified absentee ballot documents, voter registration applications, and forged signatures. This behavior is standard practice in Bridgeport.
Ballot fraud is not isolated in Bridgeport. Last week, the State Appellate Court upheld the conviction of Former Stamford DTC Chair John Mallozzi on 14 counts of absentee ballot tampering in the 2015 municipal election. Mallozzi fraudulently completed absentee ballot applications and forged signatures.
Absentee Ballot fraud is a regular occurrence in the two largest cities in the Fourth Congressional District and our federal, state-wide, district, and municipal elected officials are responsible for the continued occurrence when they employ these operatives on their respective campaigns.
We will never know for sure whether the 2019 Mayoral Primary winner was legitimately elected. And it’s not just the voters, but the other candidates who suffer as well.
I call upon State Democratic Party Chairwoman DiNardo to rescind Wanda Geter’s community service award, on Governor Lamont and my opponent Jim Himes to stop employing firms and political operatives who violate our election laws, City Council President Nieves to remove Castillo from all council committees, the Chief state’s attorney and Justice Department to swiftly prosecute election fraud crimes, Mayor Joe Ganim to terminate Wanda’s employment with the city, and I call upon the man who wields power over all elected city officials Bridgeport party boss Mario Testa to demand Wanda’s resignation as DTC Vice-Chair.”

Bob MacGuffie is the endorsed Republican nominee to oppose Jim Himes in CT-4. He has penned dozens of Op-Eds and LTEs, and has been guest speaker at many Conservative gatherings and dinners across Connecticut.
